Sharepoint – How to Create Document Library and Assign Web parts

Introduction

In this article we will be learning about web parts in SharePoint where we will be creating document library and assign it to Web Parts. By exploitation internet elements, you will be able to modify the content, appearance, and behavior of pages of a SharePoint website by employing a browser. Web Part are server-side controls that run within an web part page: they are the building blocks of pages that appear on a SharePoint website.

Description

Webparts framework was 1st introduced in ASP.NET 2.0. Webparts that are transmissible from Webpart category are supported in SharePoint and are helpful in many ways. A Web Part, also called a Web Widget, is an ASP.NET server management that is further to an WebPart Zone on WebPart Pages by users at run time

If you are administrator of your SharePoint site than only you can perform this task.

First Step
    1. Login in on SharePoint site with your Windows Authentication.
    2. Then click on Site Actions > New Document Library

Please see below image for your Reference.

On Create page give the Name and Description of your Document Library and on “Navigation” Check the “NO” to Display this document Library on the Quick Launch and on “Document Template” select from Drop down “Basic Page” and Click Create.

Once it’s created you will see this document library on Site Collection > View All Site Content > Testing Click on Testing

Create 3 Web Parts :- Same as below for all three.
  1. First Web Part page having links of Employee View (Here only Employee a USER can see his documents)
  2. Second Web Part Page having link of SharePoint Group and the All Document View.
  3. Third Web part page having internal Web Parts of above two web parts.

We are talking about this view were we are creating for a document Library, or Form Library (Info path form) or from Lists. On these we have created views the Same views we have to call to 1st two Web Parts.

Go on Site collection Again and create 3 Web Part Pages > Site Collection > More Options > Pages > Web Part Page > Create

Give the Name of your Web Part page and on “Layout” Choose a Layout template as per Business Requirement, then at last select “Save Location” The Name of your “Document Library”

Once its Created you will see it will be in your Created Document Library. Click on “Testing” web part > Click on “Page” it’s near to Browse > Click Edit page

On the Header of your Web Part Click “Add a web Part” a pop-up window will slide.

From Category > Select “List and Libraries” > Select “Your Document Library, Lists, or form Library where you have created saved or created”

Then you will see whatever data you have saved on Document Library, Form Library or List it will get reflect then

  1. Click on Right corner of your HTML Form Web Part a drop down
  2. Select “Edit Web Part” > One Pop up Window will slide from Left side
  3. Select the View As “Employee View”
  4. You will get one pop-up message of “Switching to a different view removes changes you have made to this view and may disable web part Connection….. “ Click “OK” on that.
  5. Click “OK” Edit Web Part.

Click on Second Web Part
  1. Once its Created you will see it will be in your Created Document Library. Click on “GroupTesting” web part > Click on “Page” it’s near to Browse > Click Edit page
  2. On the Header of your Web Part Click “Add a web Part” a pop-up window will slide.
  3. From Category > Select “List and Libraries” > Select “Your Document Library, Lists, or form Library where you have created saved or created)
  4. Select “Edit Web Part” > One Pop up Window will slide from Left side > Select Current View as “All Document”
  5. And on Advance Tab > Go down and put SharePoint group in “Target Audiences” and click “OK”.
Know click on Third Web part
  1. Once its Created you will see it will be in your Created Document Library. Click on “MergeOfTesting” web part > Click on “Page” it’s near to Browse > Click Edit page
  2. Add Web Part on Center columns (Any Side you can take) in this e.g; we are taking Center Right Column a pop-up window will slide from above.
  3. From Category > Select “Forms” > Select “HTML Form Web Part” Click Add
  4. Select “Edit Web Part” > One Pop up Window will slide from Left side
  5. Click Source Editor (Text Editor will open)

  1. Add Web Part on Center columns (Any Side you can take) in this e.g; we are taking Center Column, a pop-up window will slide from above.
  2. From Category > Select “Forms” > Select “HTML Form Web Part” Click Add
  3. Select “Edit Web Part” > One Pop up Window will slide from Left side
  4. Click Source Editor (Text Editor will open)

Now we need to give the Navigation for an User of our “MergeOfTesting “Web Part

Click on Site Action > Site Settings > and In Look and Feel > Navigation link

Give URL  and Name of your Navigation Title :-

And you will see your Navigation link is created on SharePoint site click and ENJOY.
